What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

Got the 450 out and fitted a new Lithium battery. 9amp/hr and 180cca.

Weighs about 1/4 of the orignal one and cranks like a champ!!

Was $136 AUD

Enjoy the bike!
You have some info I've been looking for. Does the ktm front dic guard mount need to be modified? What year mount?

I think I bought the wrong mount without doing more research. Had to modify mine to make it work.

I bought a 05-10 EXC (part # 2043170059) mount but I had to cut a piece to make it thinner. Otherwise the wheel gets stuck. You will have to messure it correctly cause if you cut too much then the mount will rub against the rotor bolts.

Good luck man.

She looks great!! Love the disc guard, and LOVE that headlight plate. What is that please?

Finished my KYB conversion.

Seriously. If I can do it anyone can do it. The KYB conversion is worth the effort for anyone who has ever hit a whoop.

Stripped the plastic, swapped rear wheel bearings (bought the wrong ones for the front, whoops!), swppaed out tires and street gearing, pulled off the Lectron and dropped the 36mm back into place. Gave the bike a good cleaning and fired it up. Ready for the 500 minute endurance race this coming weekend!

Why did you remove the lectron?

Why did you remove the lectron?

We didn't get along very well. I could tune it for either top end or low end, but it wouldn't balance between the two. I'm going to get back to the AS2 carb and be in touch with Lectron to see if we can get a different rod to meet my criteria. The bummer is that once I got the bottom end up to half throttle sorted, the top end was way too rich, so I think that a different rod taper should help. but, I'm going to play with needles and brass for a bit until we get a resolution on the Lectron. It's a good carb, it just needs more tuning than I'm willing to invest right now.

Old steed has to go, new about to arrive

So - our enduro season is officially over. What started as almost a joke by handing over my 2011 EC250 Racing to the young lady who happens to be Estonia's best trials rider for some experiments and having fun in general resulted in two national titles in both endurosprint and two days enduro. It is obviously much-much more than we ever dared to dream about as basically we did it with no training, no sponsors, no budget and no planning. Things somehow just happened..
Now it is time to really make some plans for next year. It is clear that we have to move our targets much higher and there is no room for jokes any more. Enduro on international level is a serious thing and competing on 6 years old bike on international level makes no sense. Time moves on and to achieve best results we need the best equipment possible. So - my old trusty bike has to go. This is actually a sad moment as I really love her but still....

But there is also the bright side. For me there was no question what my next bike's brand will be. Thanks to our local GasGas importer we found a 2015 EC250 Replica with Ohlins TTX shock and nice red Marzocchis and with very few hours on clock. It obviously needs setting up and tuning especially in suspension department but basically it is ready to race.
So in few weeks my tagline will change and this will officially mark beginning of the new season and new era.

That sounds great. Thank you for sharing with us.
Good luck for next year's racing effort.
Please keep us informed as to how it goes for you all.

I think you both will be very happy with the new bike. I have a club mate that buys brand new bikes quite often, he had a 2014 EC250 replica and was very impressed with it. The best bike he ever had was his verdict at the time.

Good luck with the international racing next season.
