Why would you expect a new bike from the ground up, with ALL the updates the consumer asked for...be less than anyone else?
Don't think we expected it (at least not myself) more like really, really, really hoping.

For starters I would say maybe to buy back some faith. I would say that a bike that will most likely have a crappy resale, at least until people grow to trust again would want to come to market at a price point that would draw people in to come see them. Not just gamble on the few that still believe.
I'd say for starters don't have flaky dealers, Just found out why the dealer that I contacted 6months ago (that didn't know anything about the bike and it was I that was keeping them in the loop) has the bikes sold to friends when they come in... Good and I'm back to buying a new KTM
Thank you. I owe you a hat.
2017 models came with very weak kick starter pedal and electric starter gears that broke.![]()
^^^ Thanks for bringing that up Leo, the bolt on starter motor is my biggest hesitation in buying a 2018 actually. It looks identical to the 2017 setup, so I'm sure all of us are curious if anything internal has been changed to address the starter issues that have plagued the earlier bikes. I hope so, because relying on warranty repairs/starter parts replacement isn't a real solution. Any technical insight Mark/Rod?
What went wrong with your 17, you had all these problems?
Not mine but friend's '17 bike
The aluminium on kick starter pedal smash at the open position stopper. (had gone 3 pedals yet)
The gear bolted to flywheel lost few teeths and damage bendix gear.
But, have another friend with another '17 bike (pedal starter only) with kick starter pedal perfect so far.So, seems like it vary from part to part or start technique to technique.
