The Nambotin Replica 2010 Thread

ya suspension is such a personal thing as well if you like how the bike is tracking and the front end is planted then i would just go off feel, i mean suspension on any bike is going to be subjective to who ever is riding the bike,if it feels good for you then go with it i mean your riding on the best suspension you can buy so it better be pretty good!!!!

It does feel good when I am running flat out, I do need to get some better weight transfer though. I can't hardly wheelie over obstacles. It spins instead of wheelies.

hey guys just so you know there are yzf250 fastway f6 pegs which fit are nambos on ebay right now for 49.99! i bought a set for mine and just thought id let you know apperantly there a direct swap but the kick starter rubs a bit at the bottom of its stroke so a little filing might be in order

I am also light at around 150, and I had exactly the same feel when I bought my 07. With the stock rear spring I couldn't get a race sag of around 105mm without causing a static sag of around 45mm. Basically the spring was too stiff so I went to a .48 (2 increments softer). The improvement in ride and traction was significant. What intrigued me was the problem of "can't hardly wheelie over obstacles" ( I had just thought these things were a bit front heavy - I'll get used to it) totally disappeared. It felt like a different bike, the front felt light and flicky through the tight stuff, could now wheelie over obstacles even in a too high a gear, if you know what I mean. The idea of going softer on the rear is not often discussed on the forum - I think it's a problem that only the lightest of us experience. For me, that softer spring has been the single best thing I have bought.

ya that would be hard being that light and trying to make stock springs work,on my last bike crf450x i had to go to a .48 fork spring from .46 and to a 5.7 rear spring and it made all the difference in the world with no valving change. springs are were to start for sure i think alot of people rush into a revalve to and the fork might have been pretty sweet to start with just sprung wrong.

id like to know the spring rates on our nambos kurdt because there sprung stiff to start with as they are full blown race bikes so if a 175lb rider needs to push the bike to really utilize how good it can be imagine how hard it would be for you. i know these bikes are sprung alot heavier as when i ride the 2010 six days it really needs to be pushed to feel good but when i ride an 07 ec 250 its super plush and good at slow to medium speed but get going and youll be getting bucked off it from my experience.

My experience with Ohlins is they always stamp the spring with the rate info. Have you guys checked it over carefully to see?

My "hunch" is these bikes are sprung to stiff for the avarage Joe rider and will REALLY shine once set up correctly.

hey guys, i just had a quick question for the nambotin owners, my bike is a demo so when i pick it up i wanna make sure i get what i think came with the bike. can you guys let me know if you recieved any extra sprockets, catalytic pipe, interchangable chambers? any help would be great i just wanna make sure i get all my goodies

Front and rear signals, switch gear, mirrors, catalytic pipe, sprocket, various plastic parts (i'm thinking airbox restrictors, though i never paid them much attention) rear number plate (was likely cut off) ohlins shock tool, GasGas fanny pack with tools and different jets and needles in a pill bottle. I think that is about it.

thanks kurdt thats a big help(didnt want to miss out on anything!) but does anyone know about the interchangeable chambers? i thought that was suppose to be one of the big"racing replica" features

Mine didn't come with any alternate chambers. The head is made by Star. I'd also like to know about the "alternatives".

ill give my dealer a call and ask him today, i thought there was interchangeable chambers but maybe they have to be purchased.

ok so there is interchangeable chambers they just call them adjustable compression inserts and i guess you can buy them but i have no idea were i thought they came with the bike but i guess not, kinda cool though

There made by S3 . The Stars head and inserts can be purchased individually or as a set. What one is inside our bikes i dont know , but whatever it is , it works good for me

I've got a barrel of VP U4.2 just dieing to be run through that Black (very high) compression insert!

Dave Fair at Gas Gas Pacific had a set when i picked up my bike , we compared them to each other , Wow is the difference small to the naked eye , but there was a difference

Kurdt , did you take a peek to see what they come with ?
