The Nambotin Replica 2010 Thread

I switch from a 2004 yam WR490 to a 300 2t. It's like getting off a Harley and going for a ride on a mountain bike. The only thing i missed is the low torque.

thats hilarious that your nambo is your first 2 stroke because i switched from a crf450x to a nambo after riding my buddies 2010 ec250 sixdays and to me i dont get why people say its a big jump! 2 me its 10 times easier riding a 2 stroke the first time i rode it, and i was definetly faster and a better hill climber! a well tuned four stroke is just as gnarly in my opinion only harder to ride because its so heavy and not as nimble. i think the nambo makes the transition even easier because the suspension is fairly dialed and you have a ton of very well tuned power. just my 2 cents

Does anyone know which plugs can be substituted for the original? NGK would be preferred because they are easy to obtain.

Same as almost every other 2-stroke ever made, BR8ES/G/IX, etc. depending on how fancy of a plug you want. I usually stick with the basic ES model. I just had Nambo-Trev's out yesterday and it is the standard EC plug.

Wes.

well i finally got to pick up the nambo, the dealer jetted it for me but have not taken it out to figure if its lean, rich or perfect. the set up is 175 main jd red needle middle notch and 40 pilot. i also installed my fastway f6's and am just waiting for my concept 1 cycra handguards to arrive. im also installing bike bonz for my handguard mounts and am using those for my dakota 20 gps. other than that just a hyde skid plate combo and scorpion rad braces. happy its finally in my garage!!!

ya im tellin ya they look cool in pictures but just dont do them justice in real life. cant ride it tell next weekend but then on im really gonna focus on the suspension to get er dialed. what are other nambo owners running for race sag?

I was looking on the gasgasons.com website and there is an article about the possibility of a Ludivine Puy replica bike, which would be similar to the Nambotin replica bike, different suspension settings though. In the extras breakdown it lists these as extras, this is the translated french version btw.

Just wondering if the Nambo comes with the bored carb and custom wheels?

- Start with the carburetor, the former Keihin PWK is mounted but Re-bored to 39.5mm and adjusted to get the best of these capabilities.

- A Commission "Factory" that LuLu and preparer chose among several boxes placed at their disposal.

- Coins being sorted on the production line and then edited, the ratings of the engine are more than perfect.

- The expansion box is the original Gas Gas, as the muffler, FMF is a quiet stealth that among other things, not to mention its capacity, has a larger volume with more than rock wool for less tone ( about 92dB).

- The master cylinder front brake controls is changed for more efficiency.

- The clutch master cylinder automatic adjustment of the guard and easy adjustment in tension with two fingers.

- Very special wheels, each piece was weighed several brands.
Has been mounted what is best in terms of wheels, balance weights / strength.
Carbon hubs, spokes for solid supported weight bearing resistance and the circles are the lightest on the market.
(You will find in a footnote to TABLE OF WEIGHT OF DIFFERENT WHEELS AND COMPONENTS GASGA)

- The fork is specific to Lulu, these are cartridges in the forks Ohlins Sachs, but with a particular setting.

- The new Ohlins shock is modified with more running and more particularly to change to plate the bike a bit and increase the preload (allowing `d have 30mm preload subside without the bike).
All this improves traction and braking.

- A white frame with new kit deco colors Ludivine, green, white and black.

Heres the link to the weight table its refering to, its in french so I cant understand most of it http://www.gasgasons.com/images/news-pics/134_1275819588.jpg

And heres a picture of the bike http://www.gasgasons.com/images/news-pics/134_1275816242.jpg

i think that is the best thing ive heard this year besides the release of the nambo! it sounds like it will be a nambo just with different plastic and frame color, maybe a60's for wheels which are a bit better than the nambos. but i can appreciate them coming out with something next year as "out of the box" different because i have quite a few friends that really wanted a nambo this year but for one reason or another, mainly availability could not do it this year. im pumped to see what the final bike looks like!

Yeah , I dont really understand the limited run of the Nambotin. Gasgas is rare enough as it is , dont really see the need for a limited number .I'd sell all I could if it was me.

I wonder what it would cost to fit the ohlins forks & shocks on a 08?

GasGas really needs a "Hard Parts" catalog of their own in North America. I have a brand new dealer so they have nothing in stock and don't really know what's out there. They have to call Dave for everything at this point. It'd be nice to have a catalog with body work, pipes, Ohlins TTX packages, jetting kits, bars, hand guards, skid plates and so on. A catalog full of GasGas parts that all GasGas owners could get their hands on...

im from calgary and claude at rockyridge motorsports will get whatever i need in super fast time(less than a week usually) hes a great guy to deal with as well just an example i ordered my hyde skid combo and rad braces from him and when i went to take delivery on my nambo he had all of it installed for me! now thats service:)

as for the run on the nambo i think the same thing gassers arent common out here anyway so why not keep a high end bike like this around. i like having a rare bike but its to sweet of a package to only have a few around.

i talked to an ohlins rep outta edmonton when i picked my nambo up and he said it would cost around 3500 bucks to retrofit if you purchased the ttx package from them. there the ones im going to have re-spring mine after i break it in as i know im going to be a bit heavy for it.

I fully agree. It is not a good situation for anyone right now. It would benefit everyone to know exactly what is out there and available for Gas Gas bikes.

If you wouldn't mind, could you ask your Ohlins rep about part #'s for springs required for a 150lb rider? Mine is definitely sprung too stiff for me to get proper sag.
